Launching the application for the first time in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard is a little different. Rather than launching directly into the Automator workflow application, you are presented with a dialog box that allows you to set the specific actions you want to have Mac Automator take on the file(s) you select from your computer.
Rather than starting with a blank canvas, Mac Automator 2.0 has default actions for opening files of the most common formats (e.g., a picture saved as a PNG file), converting pictures to different file formats (when a picture is opened from a slideshow folder), creating email attachments (with an Excel spreadsheet or Word document as the attachment), and so on.
The main benefit of Mac Automator 2.0 is its ability to set custom actions for documents that don’t have any built-in actions to open them in a certain way (or any). For example, I want to create email attachments that give a tip before sending the email, so I created the action that takes my text and automatically saves the file with a.ttx extension. Any file that is saved with an extension of.ttx is now an attachment for my email.

Some entities, say Nodes (in our case, this is a geometric entity that has an equator and a unit circle) are children of other entities, say Geometries. Both Nodes and Geometries have their own ID’s. When I think about the OS X operating system, I can’t help but to draw comparisons to Android. Is it odd? Yes, somewhat, but that’s why the OS X 10.9 Mavericks update, which is available to all interested users, is definitely a breath of fresh air.

The first and foremost change is that the user interface is completely redesigned. The first screen you’ll see when logging in, for example, shows a green desktop with a dock at the bottom and dock icons for different apps like Messages, Mail, Safari, and Finder, on top.
