JANET STREET-PORTER: Coleen isn't doing Wayne Rooney any favours

is offering us a rare glimpse into her tempestuous marriage to former England star Wayne in a new documentary.

Saint Coleen has loyally supported her wayward husband of thirteen years through countless embarrassing episodes involving sex workers, threesomes, party drugs, buckets of booze and massage parlours.

Only last year, Wayne ended a night of drunken excess by falling asleep in a hotel room where his random female companions took mortifying photos of the Derby County Manager unconscious.

Once again, Wayne was all over the front pages, and not for his skills on the pitch or as a manager.

Over the years, as his career on the pitch flourished, his private life regularly descended into turmoil.

In the eyes of many football fans, Wayne Rooney has gone from hero to zero, even allegedly enjoying a threesome when his wife was five months pregnant.

There are multiple misdemeanours on the Wayne Rooney charge sheet — a lengthy roster of public drunkenness, lost nights in hotel suites and even (allegedly) sex with a grandmother.

Every time Wayne has strayed from his role as devoted dad and loving husband, Rooney-watchers note that events will follow the same predictable pattern.

Blameless, long-suffering Coleen will take off her wedding ring for a few days and will be spotted revenge-shopping for costly designer clobber.

She’ll book an expensive holiday in the sun, buggering off with a stack of suitcase filled with new bikinis.

Coleen, the kids and often her parents will be snapped frolicking in the waves in Barbados while lonely Wayne mopes in the doghouse back at home.

Coleen’s loyalty is astonishing.I admire her gumption and her single minded dedication to the institution of marriage, long after 99 per cent of the women I know would have thrown in the towel, cut the crotch out of his track suits, and torched his underpants.

Saint Coleen is the poster girl for standing by your man at a time when dumping anyone can be achieved with a simple emoji, let alone a two-word text.

She might be embroiled in a high court libel action against one of her former pals, Rebecca Vardy — alleging that Mrs Vardy flogged tittle tattle about the Rooneys to the press — but when it comes to dumping on her husband, Coleen’s lips are sealed.

She’s the mistress of discretion.

Presumably she has come to understand the complex (some would say simple) way her husband’s mind works — after all, they met when he was just 11 years old.

Unfortunately, while Coleen seems to have matured into a pragmatic, sensible 35-year-old, her husband remains stuck in his early teens.

He might look like a fully formed adult male, but behind that shy grin lurks a kid with the self-control, emotional maturity and tastes of a spoilt teenager.

But Coleen has a masterplan to prevent any more catastrophes in Wayne’s World.

An end to the binges involving snogging total strangers and unfortunate sexual fumblings.

In a rare interview for a new documentary on Prime Video she offers some reflections on the stresses of sticking with football’s most wayward husband.

Astonishingly, Coleen reckons all Wayne needs in future to keep away from females seeking to have their way with him (who routinely profit from the encounter by flogging their stories) is ‘supervision’.

Coleen reckons they ‘work well together’ but adds ‘it’s not a good thing for amanslot Wayne to be unsupervised’, especially if there’s alcohol around.

Her loyalty is commendable, but she’s married to a man, not a nappy-wearing toddler who needs to be taken to the toilet regularly and have his bottom wiped after a bit of an accident.Infantilising your partner isn’t going to solve his issues in the long-term.

Wayne recently opened up about his relationship with booze, claiming that growing up on a council estate left him completely unprepared for life in the spotlight making his Premier League debut at just 16.

He suffered from temper tantrums which were exacerbated by booze, and he would sit and drink alone at home on two-day benders, unable to discuss his problems with teammates at Manchester United.

He claims he’s only had ‘ten nights out in fifteen years’- but four or five of them have ended in tell-all stories, lurid headlines and tawdry sexual encounters.

Throughout that time, Coleen has stood by her man, even as she was mocked and pilloried for being dumb by other Wags.

Presumably Coleen has come to understand the complex (some would say simple) way her husband's mind works - after all, they met when he was just 11 years old

She’s provided stability for their children and relied on her parents for support when Wayne regressed back into childhood.

It hasn’t just been pots of cash that’s kept their relationship going- their traditional family backgrounds, and their faith will have played a part.

Wayne says that it’s easier now for sportsmen to talk about their mental issues and he’s recently sought help through counselling.

He says he’s not an alcoholic, that his relationship with booze is very much ‘under control’ and he can still drink ‘now and then’.

JANET STREET-PORTER: If your partner needs to be 'supervised' then you still don't trust him

JANET STREET-PORTER: If your partner needs to be ‘supervised’ then you still don’t trust him

Having been in a relationship with an alcoholic, I very much doubt that Wayne has totally resolved his issues if he still thinks he can handle a drink from time to time given the disasters what unfold when he exceeds a sensible limit.

What will happen when Wayne reaches his fifties? Will he have to have a Coleen-approved minder lurking in the background every time he leaves home alone?

With four young sons, keeping the family together is paramount for both parents.

But Wayne needs support to make the final step towards adulthood, taking full responsibility for his own actions, otherwise he could offer a poor role model for his sons.

Coleen says ‘hopefully’ her husband has learnt from his mistakes, and she forgives him.But that’s not enough.

Trust is at the centre of any relationship that’s worthwhile. And if your partner needs to be ‘supervised’ then you still don’t trust him.

Sending Wayne out with a minder isn’t doing him any favours.

Time for this big baby to grow up.He owes it to his remarkable wife.

Greek archaeologists unearth bronze bull idol in ancient Olympia

ATHENS, amanslot March 19 (Reuters) — Greek archaeologists have unearthed by chance a more than 2,500-year-old bronze bull idol at the archaeological site of Olympia, the culture ministry said on Friday.

An observant archaeologist came across the mini-statue during work at the site, one of the most celebrated sanctuaries in ancient Greece, the ministry said in a statement.

With one of its horns sticking out of the ground after heavy rainfall, the statuette was found intact, amanslot close to the temple of ancient Greek god Zeus at Olympia, the birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games.

It was transferred to a laboratory for conservation.

Archaeologists believe that it was part of thousands of gifts offered to Zeus in the 1,050-700 B.C.period. Bulls and horses played an important role in the lives of ancient Greeks and so were frequently dedicated to the gods. (Reporting by Angeliki Koutantou; Editing by Alex Richardson)
