So, my first 30 Days blogging challenge is black bird pizza. I’d never actually heard of black bird pizza until two weeks ago. I was surfing the net and stumbled upon the where this prodigy of a black bird was making his black bird pizza. I immediately went to his blog and began following his blog tips. I read on and on and then saw the magic, Black Bird Pizza. Excitedly I went to the website and found the recipe. Well, after making a QUICK prototype, I realized I liked the ingredients but I was stuck on what peppers should I use and what kind of peppers? I decided on a HoneyChipotle and a Habanero. I thought I would follow the recipe to a T just so you have a heads up on what I did and how well it worked out. I’m so glad I followed this recipe to a T because I dinged it up a little and corrected it just enough so you wouldn’t want to be any further away from actually recreating his masterpiece. Oh, what joy there would be!
I wanted to make this pizza my absolute own, do what I wanted in regards to the choice of peppers. Since I’d given my method of making my pizza totally my own, I figured it was the perfect time to go fully crazy and switch out the cheats. I used toasted cobs as the crust. It was crispy and burnt and gave off the perfect flavor of freshness. TOASTED was the name of the game. Like my friend Kim likes to say, “if you have to.” I had a delicious toasted pizza crust even if it was now a little on the chalky side, because that’s like me. I’m very adventuresome and though I like to keep it real, I do not like practicing by being in a straightjacket. Anywho, after toasting this particular version of black bird pizza we were able to create a masterpiece.
